Jenna Massingill and Whitney Finco, Jenna was named Northern Division Pitcher of the week. Jenna pitched all eight games last week going 6-2 with a 2.12 ERA. She struck out 52 in 47 innings of work. She is a freshman from Keewatin, MN.
Whitney was named the Northern Division Player of the week. She batted .555 (15-27) in her last 8 games. Her hits included 5 doubles and 1 homerun and she produced 12 RBI's from her leadoff spot. She is a sophomore shortstop from Hibbing, MN.

Erik Paine was named the Northern Division Player of the Week in Baseball this past week. Erik led the Cardinals at the plate with a .615 batting average with 3 doubles, 7 runs scored, 5 stolen bases and 4 walks in 6 games last week. He also pitched a complete game victory with 8 strikeouts in a 9-6 win over Central Lakes. Erik is a sophomore from Chisholm, MN.

Brittany Paige, Whitney Finco and Jenna Zmyslony were all named to the All-Northern Division team for women's basketball. Both Paige and Finco were also named to the All-State team. Congratulations to them on an outstanding season.

Handful Pour, Zak Mathson, Quintin Wagner and Marcus Nolan Jr. were all named to the All-Northern Division team for men's basketball. Handful Pour and Zak Mathson were also named to the All-State team. The Cardinal men finished in a tie for first place in the North Division this season. As a result Coach Matt Johnson was named Northern Division Coach of the Year.

Zak Mathson was named the Northern Division player of the week. Zak averaged 20 ppg and 12.5 rpg while shooting 68% from the field and 86% from the line. Zak is a sophomore from Cambridge, MN.

Handful Pour was named Northern Division player of the week. Handful averaged 23 ppg, 4rpg, 2.5 spg and 3apg this pas week as the Cardinals moved 6-1 in division play. Pour scored 31 points in a big road win at Mesabi Range this past week. He is a freshman from Minneapolis, MN.

Quintin Wagner was named Northern Division player of the week. Quintin averaged 10.5 ppg, 3rpg, 5 apg and 1.5 spg as Hibbing split a pair of division games this past week. Quintin is a freshman from St. Louis Park, MN.

Shaylon Fenstermaker was named Northern Division player of the week this past week. Shaylon averaged 15 points and 8.5 rebounds per game over the weekend. He also hit on 12 of 14 free throws. Shaylon is a sophomore from Burley, ID.

Zak Mathson was named Northern Division player of the week for this past week. Zak averaged 19 ppg and 13 rpg this past week. Zak is a Sophomore from Cambridge, MN.

Handful Pour, Shaylon Festermaker and Jenna Zmyslony were all named to the All-Tournament team this past weekend at the Gogebic CC basketball tournament. Jenna and Handful were also named Northern Division players of the week for their outstanding play over the past week.

Jenna was named MCAC All-North Division 1st team, All-State 2nd team and NJCAA All-Region 13B team. Jenna is a 5'8" outside hitter from Barnum, MN.
NJCAA NAMES 6 HCC STUDENT ATHLETES ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN
Six HCC student athletes were named to the Academic All-American teams for the 2010-2011 school year. Congratulations to them for all their hard work both in athletics and academics! The HCC athletic department is very proud of all of these students!
