Library Policies
A valid barcoded identification card, which is an HCC student ID or an HCC LIBRARY CARD, is required to charge materials from the HCC Library. Please see the Library staff to establish proper identification. All transactions using this card are the responsibility of the card holder. REPORT LOST CARDS TO LIBRARY STAFF IMMEDIATELY. A new card will be issued at a cost of $2.00.
LOAN POLICIES
To remove materials from the library or to receive information through interlibrary loan, a patron must possess a valid barcode identification card (HCC student ID or HCC LIBRARY CARD). The borrowing privileges of patrons are limmited according to the priorities of the college. The following table explains borrowing privileges by the type of patron:

A bill will accrue when the above limits are exceeded. Prompt return/renewal of materials is the responsibility of the patron. All circulation of library materials ends on the final day of the semester. Materials cannot be charged through break times or into the following semester. All replacement and processing charges must be paid to clear your patron record. Delinquent return of materials will result in suspension of library privileges and holds placed on records and financial aid.
AUDIO-VISUAL
Requests for the use of audio-visual equipment must comply with HCC policy, which is as follows:
Requests for audio-visual equipment should be made at least three (3) days in advance of the day it is needed. Equipment requests made three or more days in advance by HCC staff will be given priority over outside groups. In the event two or more groups request equipment in less than the three days required, the equipment may be made available in the order in which they requests are received.

Please follow these guidelines:
- Make requests to the Librarian, by telephone at (218) 262-6747, or by
memorandum; - Make requests for one-time or extended use;
- Follow the HCC policy stated above.
